University and College Honors
Each college will be holding its own honors ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 15. Seniors receiving university and college honors will be recognized and presented with honors medallions and cords, which should be worn during commencement on Sunday.
- Each ceremony will last approximately one hour.
- Caps and gowns are not required.
- Students, their families and guests are encouraged to attend.
Associate Deans will issue invitations to honors students and their parents beginning in mid-March and continuing through mid-April. (Invitations are issued depending on when a student's grade point average is finalized.)

Are you graduating with honors?
Verify that you will be graduating with university or college honors by speaking with your department's undergraduate adviser or commencement coordinator. Any questions regarding a student's academic standing and qualification for university or college honors should be directed to the appropriate academic department.
Academic Honor Societies
Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society
Phi Beta Kappa is the nation's oldest and largest academic honor society; select graduates will be recognized for their outstanding achievement in the liberal arts and sciences.
Honor Society Initiation Ceremony
Saturday, May 15
7:30-9:30 a.m.
A light breakfast will be available prior to the ceremony.

Unable to attend your Honors Ceremony?
Students who are unable to attend their honors ceremony will be able to pick up their honors cords and/or medallions at the Commencement Welcome Area, located in Wean Commons, first floor, University Center.
