Contact: Carnegie Mellon CyLab Teams Up With Tatum and Inc. Magazine To Offer Innovative Technology Leadership Program for Executives
PITTSBURGH—Carnegie Mellon CyLab announced today that it has partnered with Tatum, LLC and Inc. magazine to expand the reach of its Technology Leadership Essentials certificate program, a first-of-its-kind executive education program for chief information officers in 35 U.S. cities.
The program, launched last year by Tatum and Carnegie Mellon CyLab, is designed to address the need for a practical, hands-on course to help technology leaders become effective chief information officers.
"The Technology Leadership Essentials program will teach leaders how to deliver strategic technology initiatives at the speed of business," said Dena Haritos Tsamitis, director of the Information Networking Institute and director of education, training and outreach for Carnegie Mellon CyLab.
The new program combines Carnegie Mellon's technology, policy and management expertise and Tatum's finance and technology leadership with Inc.'s tenure as the go-to resource for news and case studies in high-velocity business growth. The end product will be the most sought after technology leadership training series for professionals.
The 12 courses that make up the Technology Leadership Essentials curriculum leverage Tatum's 500 strategic, financial and technology leadership executives as co-developers and instructors. The program will be available to businesses across the country seeking to equip business and technology executives with the capability of leading in today's complex business environment.
Course modules, offered twice monthly over a six-month period, will cover a broad range of IT issues, including risk management, data privacy issues and the challenges of outsourcing.
The program targets a broad business sector, including everything from health and fitness to finance and manufacturing.
"After participating in the first pilot program, our chief information officer has improved our technology infrastructure by implementing practical solutions gleaned from his courses," said Gary Heavin, chief executive officer and founder of Curves International, Inc.
