Carnegie Mellon Mechanical Engineering Students Demonstrate Asthma Device to Olympian

PITTSBURGH—Carnegie Mellon University students Peter Castelli and Daniel Fry will join Olympic gold medalist Jackie Joyner Kersee to show the effects of asthma on the lung and breathing with a small device created in a class project. The mechanical engineering students are part of a larger event designed to highlight the challenges faced by individuals with asthma. Representatives of the American Respiratory Alliance of Western Pennsylvania are sponsoring the event, which also includes a walk for asthma.
