Carnegie Mellon to Showcase Medical Robotic
Research at Biomedical Engineering Forum
EVENT: Carnegie Mellon University's College of Engineering has created a Department of Biomedical Engineering to meet the growing needs of an emerging biotechnology industry sector. A panel of distinguished guests including Jonathan Rothberg, chairman and founder of CuraGen Corp., a genomics-based pharmaceutical company, and Astro Teller, the chief executive officer of Body Media, will discuss the challenges facing biotech startups. A tour of medical robotics research, including displays of specially designed imaging equipment for detecting cancer cells and an anatomical hand for use in plotting medical data, will be featured in a special lab tour.
