Mount Lebanon's Marty Vander Velde
Joins Carnegie Mellon Innovation Transfer Center
PITTSBURGHMarty Vander Velde has been appointed project manager at Carnegie Mellon University's Innovation Transfer Center.
In his new position, Vander Velde will be in charge of performing market analyses to determine the commercial value of Carnegie Mellon research, marketing the technology to potential licensees, and negotiating a license once a licensee is found.
The Innovation Transfer Center helps university inventors and product innovators to decide whether to license their inventions to an already existing company or to form a "start-up" company.
Prior to coming to Carnegie Mellon, Vander Velde worked for Intel and Manugistics, a supply chain management software company. Vander Velde is a graduate of Virginia Tech and Carnegie Mellon's Graduate School of Industrial Administration, and lives in Mount Lebanon.
