What is MSOP?
MSOP is the Minority Science Outreach program, where we get students
that are underrepresented in the scientific community the opportunity to be exposed to
its thinking and methods. We are located at the Mellon Institute building, a major research center for Carnegie
Mellon University, where high school students
can develop individual scientific research projects that they can then present in the many science
fairs that happen annually
here in Pittsburgh and around the nation.

Why is this good for me?
The experience at MSOP will teach you many, many things.
You will learn much science that will build upon what you get in school, and you will learn
where all these facts fit in the real world, and actual on-going research, and how what
you are studying is helping build a better world and a better future for everyone, man, plant and
rock.
Also, you will be doing this project with lots of support from Stacey but it is your own project,
and will only go forward when you put in the effort. So you will learn the value of discipline
and perseverance and accomplishment.
