Alas, there will be no "Revenge of the Nerds" remake. We learn today from Paper Trail, the higher education blog of U.S. News and World Report, that filmmakers have scuttled the project, and some bloggers blame Emory University's decision not to let the film be shot on Emory's campus. The studio cited other concerns, but if Emory's refusal to allow the film to be shot on campus played any role in the filmmaker's decision, than on behalf of the film-going public I can only say thank you, Emory University.

Which reminds me. Filming at Carnegie Mellon is just about done for the feature film "Smart People", which stars Dennis Quaid as a Carnegie Mellon English professor. The film is produced by the people behind "The Mysteries of Pittsburgh", which was shot in Pittsburgh. "Mysteries" is an adaptation of a Michael Chabon novel, whose book "Wonder Boys" was turned into a movie that was filmed at Carnegie Mellon.
